W HOTEL HOLLYWOOD Los Angeles, CA Architect • HKS Inc. Artist • Pae White Photography • Karyn R. Millet Pae White installed a monumental kinetic sculpture at W Hotel Hollywood, and the sculpture spans 10 floors between the hotel and condominium buildings. The installation consists of stainless steel forms suspended from tensioned cables, allowing the individual elements to move in the wind. The forms are a wide variety of laser cut stainless steel shapes, powder coated in seven metallic colors. The five strand sculpture fills the space with light and movement.
